Meet the TrainEEAST Team
Here at TrainEEAST, we want you to experience the highest quality customer service and delivery of our courses. Get to know a little bit more about the team that make that happen below.
Jess – Senior Commercial Training Officer
I am a paramedic and began my frontline career in London, before moving home to Norfolk. I am passionate about teaching people how to handle emergency and basic first aid situations. I hope to teach as many people as possible how to treat someone in a cardiac arrest, inspiring confidence to call for help, start CPR and use a defibrillator. Although my current role is primarily outside of the classroom, I still love coming to teach courses and meeting learners.
Beyond work, I spend my time with my rare breed Dales Ponies, cooking (and eating!), and getting out and about seeing the world.
Ann – Commercial Training Officer
I joined the Ambulance Service 20 years ago, working frontline and with the Patient Transport Service. I also teach and have been doing so for just over 30 years, doing so full-time since joining the Trust in 2018. The variety of my weeks are fantastic! My favourite courses to deliver are the First Aid at Work courses, Falls Intervention, Enhanced First Aid Medics and teaching some community-based Basic Life Support courses.
I am blessed to do something I am passionate about. I endeavour to deliver courses that are informative, interactive, and fun. At the same time, I focus on being relaxed and positive so that once the course ends, those attending the sessions feel confident in their new skills to assist someone in their hour of need. Outside of work, I love walking my dog alongside my husband. I learnt to play golf before the COVID-19 pandemic and I love to bake, which normally involves something chocolatey!
Freddie – Commercial Training Officer
I qualified as a Paramedic after studying at the University of East Anglia and went on to work frontline in Central Norfolk. I joined TrainEEAST because I enjoyed the teaching and mentoring aspect of being a paramedic and I wanted to expand my involvement in adult education. I have a passion for delivering sessions to a wide variety of clients and making a difference to our communities through the education we provide.
Kate – TrainEEAST Administrator
I am currently the Administrator for TrainEEAST as well as covering for Lead IQA. I first started in the Ambulance Service back in 1995 when it was the East Anglian Ambulance, on the PTS side, leaving in 2004 to pursue a teaching career.
I completed my degree in Career Development and became a freelance school Careers Officer. I have been ideally situated to advise people who wanted to pursue a career of their own in the Ambulance Service. As I developed my own skills with my CPD, I became an Assessor, and an IQA as well as a Lead IQA and then an EQA. I left teaching to come back to what is now EEAST, as an Administrator.
Having an Office Manager qualification has been useful and enables me to keep track especially in my current position. I’ve been known as the ‘Spreadsheet Queen’! I love my job and helping others to achieve their full potential – this is especially useful when people want to know about our courses and how they can develop their skills further.
