Our aim is to teach as many members of the public as possible an awareness of what to do in a medical emergency, what actions to take and when, and to give them the courage to make potentially life changing decisions to help those who need it most.

Out of hospital cardiac arrests affect over 100,000 people per year in the UK, but sadly the survival rate is less than 1 in 10, and survival falls by 10% for every minute a person doesn’t receive CPR or defibrillation.

Early intervention of bystanders (the first links of the chain of survival) have been shown to improve survival and good neurological outcomes of patients suffering out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). A better knowledge of the most effective techniques might help improve survival.

Our aim is to provide a resource to the public to learn Basic Life Support skills and dispel the myths about Defibrillation.
