Anna's Journey - Make Ready Supervisor
Anna Fright is a make ready supervisor.
I joined the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) back in 2022 having reached a crossroad in my career as a safeguarding officer. I had always liked the idea of working for the emergency services as I love helping people in any way I can, so when I saw the role of make ready operative being advertised, I just went for it and I’m so happy I did!
I love every aspect of my role – I get to be with the most amazing, caring people on a daily basis, but most importantly I’m part of a fantastic team who get ambulances ready so that crews can go out and attend the most poorly patients. This is just one of the reasons I feel very proud and privileged to be part of EEAST.
I started as a make ready operative and have since been given the opportunity to apply for and successfully obtain the role of make ready supervisor. The help and support I received from my fellow supervisors and group lead really did push me towards achieving my goals and help me along on my career journey. Now I get to manage the fleet and make sure the ambulances are roadworthy and safe for our amazing operations team to go out to patients.
If you’re considering a career with EEAST, the only advice I could give would be to go for it! It is such a brilliant place to work for, not only is there great leadership but friendly, happy staff who are always willing to help you progress and push towards your goals.
